Rejection and Hope

When I received the rejection to Lipstick Wars I wasn't surprised because it was too long. I loved it but I knew it wasn't consistent with the length of Crayon Messages. So I've yanked it out to try and cut it down and now it just looks to me like a piece of swiss cheese. Full of holes of what I threw away.

In frustration I decided I could just forget the whole thing if I emailed the acquisitions editor at CFI and she said she didn't want it. Well she emailed right back and said she did. It is a great story so there you go. Today I'm rolling up my sleeves and going to keep chopping away. I'm hoping to have it in the mail by Monday.

Wish me luck.

Woohoo! Go Christine - and you still need to email it to me - my fingers are itching to edit my book, so you have to keep me distracted! ;-) Hope Lipstick Wars is going well :-)

And there you have it - a great story, a way to make it work, and a positive response! I think it's a recipe for success.
